The entrepreneurial duo of Tomakay, seven, and Hero, two and a half, managed to raise a whopping £127 (it might have been £127.50 had Hero not eaten some of the merchandise)!!! BEANO, THE LOST AND FOUND HOUND

It might be a jungle out there, but even in the heart of the London metropolis, community spirited moments occur that make your heart melt. Case in point: Beano, the RUBBISH pet, goes missing. At 12pm GMT, Beano was officially declared missing. He was nowhere to be found in our office and he hadn't found his way into any of the offices beneath or above RUBBISH H.Q. Where had he gone? RUBBISH re-enactment: Beano managed to enter the lift, push the down button to the ground floor and out of two heavy fire doors into Golden Square. Being a friendly fellow, Beano proceeded to immerse himself with the hustle and bustle of the Soho lunchtime rush, up Carnaby Street, probably a stop off at Liberty where Mrs RUBBISH was having a meeting at the time, onto Oxford Street for some retail therapy. An unsuspecting individual, who we shall refer to as Mr H., the big boss of AAA Media and Border Terrier enthusiast was approached by Beano. Without tag, Beano had lost it the day before playing with his older brother Bucket (pictured - I'm not dirty from RUBBISH 1),

Mr H. decided to take action. Beano was taken upstairs to the AAA offices where AAA pal, Christian O'Connell was hanging out. Mr O'Connell put out a twitter plea reading: "Just found this cute lil Border Terrier in Golden Sq, London!..." with this Twitpic.

Meanwhile, RUBBISH was in the midst of many fashionable meetings, so the Twit-plea went unnoticed. Gina, Mr. H's lovely assistant, tied a pink ribbon around Beano's neck in the hope that Beano would lead her back to his owners. Beano's homing device switched on and led Gina back to Golden Square where RUBBISH HQ receptionist Fiona was calling for the cheeky pooch. Beano's ears pricked up and four hours later he was reunited with his RUBBISH family. Mrs RUBBISH would like to send a big thank you to AAA Media for finding her dastardly dog.

RUBBISH Facts: Men really do wear the trousers!

Research by laundrycare expert Dr. Beckmann has revealed some startling findings about the world of denim RUBBISH can report.

Brit men own almost twice as many pairs of jeans in a lifetime (102 pairs on average) as their female counterparts (58 pairs). Beckmann's online survey of 1,750 people revealed astonishing denim facts: Although men own more than 100 pairs of denims in a lifetime, they only wash their current pair, on average, once every month and wear them around 15 times in between washes.

Women, on the other hand, may own fewer pairs, but they wash them every two weeks (once every six wears) and keep jeans for an average of five years, but can hold onto favourite pairs for up to ten years - even if they don’t wear them anymore.

Speaking to Dr. Beckmann on his groundbreaking study he said, “from the survey results it’s obvious men are the less hygienic of the sexes. It seems by the time they wash their jeans – or more likely, their partners do – the jeans are almost walking themselves."

The Courtauld Institute of Art opened its doors on Friday night for a private view of the new East Wing IX collection. It is organised every two years by Courtauld students to provide the public with an opportunity to see some of the greatest contemporary art of today. RUBBISH was lucky enough to be one of those lucky few invited and we thought it was so amazing we wanted to share some of our favourite pieces. Here we go. Let the art feast begin!

Our editorial assistants have been in the wars this week. Fiona was suffering from the Big (RUBBISH H.Q.) Freeze and now Ruth has the craziest swollen ankle after a rather unfortunate slip on the streets of New Malden. Readers who have a tendency to feel somewhat queasy at the site of anything remotely gross partially close eyes now or scroll down for half a second...

On inspecting the bruised ankle, or 'bankle' which it is now affectionately known, Mrs RUBBISH ordered the Mantern and Ruth to the Soho Walk-In Centre.

RUBBISH H.Q. is having somewhat of a central heating hiatus today which has left our poor editorial assistant, Fiona, freezing. Team RUBBISH have pulled together their resources and have wrapped her in all manner of winter warmers.

Mrs RUBBISH provided a rug made from Mongolian yak or summink (ooh itchy!) and Mantern offered up his lovely knitted scarf. The beaver on her head is Fiona's own. The plant you may notice in front of her is Daffy, the RUBBISH office pet plant and the yellow liquid is not wee (it's Barocca)!!!

RUBBISH ‘fitness fanatics’ Kila and Shelby headed along to Nike’s Dynamic Yoga event a week or so ago at Virgin’s Active Gyms with the aim to get fit for Christmas (the logic is in there somewhere-counter act the mince pies to come ex-cetera).

Dressed in Nike's bright new yoga range and armed with personalised towels, and thus an air of cool 'we're on the Nike team' prowess they were met with an active yet relaxing cardio class. Led by Nike’s Global ambassador, Leah, they were taken on a journey of meditation, and interesting stretching...gals this was by no means what you would expect from a typical yoga class.

1 word: yum Class over. Quick ‘chow down’ on the delicious sushi and smoothies provided by the lovely chaps from Exposure, Rubbish had some questions for Leah…mainly how she managed to get us to ‘glisten’ so. How long have you been teaching Yoga and how did you get in to it? 5 years, I love it! I have taught it for a while now, starting off in sunny California, which is where I am from. I lived in LA for almost 10 years and have seen a lot of exercise fads come and go, many of which I have tried, but Yoga was the one that really grabbed my attention. At one stage, I was doing Yoga twice daily!

Can you tell us a little more about Nike’s Dynamic Yoga programme? Yes, it has been specifically developed by Nike’s in house expert, Beth Oliver. They brought me in to the mix to communicate this brand new Yoga experience and demonstrate it around the world. It’s a totally new Yoga work out, and what is really new about it is the way in which you get in to the traditional positions, mainly by the warm up and actions. Dynamic Yoga is about educating the body and waking up certain areas which enables you to more intelligently get in to the poses. This naturally, makes the experience more fun and enjoyable.

How does Dynamic Yoga benefit your body? It changes your body, it can’t help but happen. Your body will become stronger, your balance will improve and you will become more flexible. tick, tick and tick! Is meditation an important element of Dynamic Yoga? Yes, it’s about focusing on the present moment and dropping the burden of that day immediately.

Well, I was a little nervous at first to see the collection, as I was going to be wearing this regularly and instructing in it, but I was definitely pleasantly surprised! Tom Foulsham - The Table That Can Tell Stories and Other Contraptions

Last week we popped along to Tom Foulsham's first solo show curated by Minnie Weisz (sister to Rachel) at her studio in Kings Cross. Alongside London's finest art critics we found ourselves beguiled by Tom's bizarre and crazy contraptions. From the intricate ‘armchair balance’ suspended downstairs by interlocking balance beams upstairs which is then finally balanced on a tiny metal pin (!) to the the paper man cut out fire machine (above). The exhibition provides a jocular insight into the workings of the mechanisms themselves, everyday science and the interaction between machine and spectator...think the Science Museum, but a lot more fun! Naturally RUBBISH got its stamp on the event at the ‘Wiggle Table’ (above) – which can either feed live news from the BBC website, or you can make it personal and instruct what it to write. Definitely check it out! Tom’s exhibition will run until the 13th December. www.minnieweisz.co.uk

As tradition dictates we bring you all our canape highlights from the press days so far. Cherryade, Popcorn and Candy Floss at MLPR...rocking! Cream tea from Cafe O, a cafe that Oasis created in their office especially for their press day really hit the spot. Handbag and peirced tongue cookies (!) from Gothic Cookies at Blow. Hackett never disappoint with Pimms Jelly, Batternburg slices, mini cream teas, shortbread biscuits and cucumber sandwiches from Rocket. But that's not all... ...Rubbish couldn't resist a second glass of this Hackett Royal - 1 part organic raspberry cordial, 2 parts champagne and garnished with fresh strawberry. mmmmm! Delectable cakes and Moet Champagne from Cellar Society at H&M. Looks good enough to eat right? Wrong! This cake is fake. Those crafty cats at Ted Baker teased us with this remarkable replica of a cherry gateau. Hold your cookie cutters folks we'll be back with more canape highlights spoon!

It's not Mallets Mallet, it's not Chinese Checkers, indeed it is neither Charades nor Pictionary. Rubbish is taking it back to the basics folks. What are we on about? Word association chums, word association. The formula for the game is as follows... Rubbish has carefully selected a multitude of words. Some are seasonal, some brand specific (to keep the players on their toes... we do not condone slackers!) and, in true Rubbish style, a few red herrings have been thrown into the mix. The Challenge: The chosen PR has 30 seconds to respond with the first word that comes to their brandtastic brains. The Outcome: We get to play a fun, muddling mind game and, with the right application of our skills of deduction, gain an insight into the inner workings of a PR officer. We may even be able to psychoanalyse the brands they represent. But most importantly we have fun and bring you something a little different from the world of Press Days! Lets Go! First up is the charming Natalia from TCS. We first proposed our challenge at the superb Converse Press Day last week. It ticked all the boxes, great concepts, interactive features, great food and although embargoed for now we can tell you the new designs are super cool. With previous achievements including the recent Hermes pour Liberty shop window in which the clever clogs recreated the iconic store in miniature, using Hermes boxes, we are delighted to be working with Mr Bean on a top secret project for 2010. When we first spotted Robert Bradford’s art work we couldn’t help thinking of the evil mutant toys from Toy Story and yet his creations are so much more! Robert uses discarded plastic and toys as a 'normal' artist would use clay to build up wooden armatures and the results, as you can see, are truly fan-plastic!

Originally inspired by a box of discarded toys from his childhood and bored of the blandness of many traditional sculptural materials he came up with this idea to give the toys a new lease of life. Like a mad Frankenstein-esque scientist, Robert crafts the sculptures and often uses up to 3,000 toys and unwanted pieces of plastic rubbish for an individual sculpture!

Narwhals and Grass Walls

On Wednesday of last week Team Rubbish went to explore the new Anthropolgie store on Regent St, and it was like nothing we have ever seen before! The sheer size of the 10,000 sq foot store is brim full of the most magical and unique treasures you’ve ever seen. Piled from floor to ceiling are the kind of items that you never thought you needed until you clapped eyes on them, and then suddenly realised you had to have them. We absolutely loved the chandeliers inspired by a ‘marriage of Western Grace and African methods of recycling.’ Made up of painted yoghurt pots, bottles and corks these rubbish chandeliers were rocking. Now if only Blue Peter had shown us how to make one! We also fell in love with the 200m2 Living Wall, which harvests its own water from the roof and mimics the design of plaid fabric. The store obviously has some serious talent up their sleeve, and it came as no surprise that Team Anthropolgie included 8 merchandisers from their US team and a ‘found buyer’; Keith from ‘Man Shops Globe’, who quite literally searches the globe for the one off antiques that feature in the shop e.g. the original Ronald Macdonald alarm clock! For team Rubbish a Press day simply isn’t a press day without a bit of nosh and Anthropologie didn’t disappoint! Cocomaya did the food which included cucumber sandwiches cunningly disguised as baked potatoes…don’t ask us how! and scrummy cream tea and scones. Trust us, this was some of the best we’ve had yet, and we’ve tried a lot of press day treats! Luckily for you Cocomaya is opening a new bakery at No. 12 Connault Street – originally a luxury chocolate shop. Oh and did we mention that pretty much everything you see in the store is for sale, now that's anthropologicool.

This week Rubbish HQ had a delivery of a werewolf cake from the lovely Jeii Hong. Sadly said cake was gobbled up before it could be photographed but Rubbish readers can aquire one just like it from Tesco’s! As a result Team Rubbish is now terribly excited about Halloween and has begun the hunt for some spookily spectacular costumes. One icon in particular was a major factor in our inspiration.. none other than Rubbish Mascot and bouncy ball enthusiast Beano! For those of you who don’t know Beano he is the studdly special force dog featured in our Rubbish fashion Police campaign. So when we stumbled across the funny.picturepie.com website which features a Halloween costume copmetition for dogs we knew we’d struck gold.

Beano was especially excited about the spider costume and told us; "Grumph... that would be perfect for Little Miss Rubbish’s Halloween-themed birthday bash."

Two heads are better than one…and three appear to be better than two when it comes to Doggy Halloween costumes.

P.s. Rubbish does not support any embarrassment caused to animals who's owners chose silly costumes!

Rubbish HQ has caught wind of a project that is just too big to keep secret and we felt we had to share. A punch bowl of B.F.G. proportions is set to hit London’s Portland Place and, like the UFO in Independence Day, its gargantuan scale is making our head spin…that may however be attributed to the equally super sized volume of alcohol it will contain. This feat of architectural and alcoholical* achievement will be brought to the British public by Courvoisier and our favourites Bompas & Parr and is part of a nationwide competition to decide the contents of the vast punch bowl. The only stipulation being that the punch must contain VSOP Courvoisier Exclusif.

But wait, our favourite part of this colossal completion is yet to come! Visitors to the installation will be invited to have a glass of the winning punch served by staff rowing across the surface in a boat! Now that’s what we call a cocktail!

Rubbish Film: A Single Man

Last night at the BAFTA screening of A Single Man, the first writing and directing foray into film for esteemed fashion designer Tom Ford, the man himself made an appearance alongside the film’s star Colin Firth at the Q&A. Everything about this moving and affecting film – performances, look, colours, pacing, shots, composition, cinematography, costumes, and soundtrack -- says that an extraordinary amount of love and care went into it. Looking every inch the stylish icon that he is, Tom was a surprisingly modest and highly eloquent interviewee. Working with a low budget and shot in just 21 days, it is a triumph for this first time director. Speaking during the Q&A, here How have you found the translation of moving your skills in the fashion industry to the film industry? People think that when you’re designing a fashion show its only a fifteen minute catwalk show that takes no time at all to prep, but the process is much more long winded than that. The idea of making a film allowed me to extend this process and enabled me to really express myself and be seen as an artist. I don’t think of myself as an artist, like some designers clearly are, but directing a film is an artistic endeavour. This is how I would describe myself as an artist. I always knew that I had a film in me. Did you use Tom Ford clothes in the film? Collin wore a few of my suits. I loved it when people forgot about my background as a designer and spoke about the films merits in its own right. This film is not a fashion vehicle. I used a wardrobe designer to create specially made pieces, but this was to support the look and feel of the story I was going for. It opens this weekend. Go and see it.

Rubbish has so much Lip Love for the lovely Lulu Guinness. When we swung buy her Spring/Summer 2010 press day yesterday, at the Savile Club on Brooke Street, we felt like we’d been transported into a Gossip Girl debutante ball.

Cheeky cherubs, scented candles and chandeliers complete with crystal grapes all added to the ultra feminine, chic look.

We had great fun swapping style tips with the Lulu girls. We also plotted how best to ‘subtly’ slip The Boyfriend some tips to buy us the entire Valentine’s Day collection!

We also had lots of fun playing with the Perspex lips, which have already been seen on the likes of Agyness Deyn, Katy Perry and Jasmine Guiness, and look forward to seeing them on tour!

In the spirit of fabulously Rubbish things, we have been chuckling at the Cake Wrecks Blog for a while now and simply cannot keep it to ourselves any longer. The site which comprises of (surprisingly enough) a selection of dire cakes, has now sparked a mild office obsession with all things crass and cakey in the Rubbish headquarters. So we decided to ask our new Rubbish pal Alice for no particular reason at all except that she is a fellow food lover, namely Bavarian smoked cheese to choose her favourite creations... ...After much consideration here is my pick catastrophic cakes for you all to feast your eyes on:

1 - This really quite frightening pregnant cake. Why I don’t know. But I definitely don’t want to eat the pitter patter of tiny feet. 2 - This scary child/thing sitting on a carrot is the websites brand logo in cake format...err? 3 - This man is so ridiculous that I just had to include him. Just so you know, it’s his guitar which is cake. Not his beard. So there we have it fabulously horrific pieces for you and all the family, it really seems cake wrecks have found a selection of ghastly batter based pieces for every event. If you think this is bad, check out this cake designed by someone’s husband. Yes this is for real. Truly horrific, highly addictive. More next week.

The long legged beauty that is Whitney Port (a.k.a the most down to earth fashion gal you can meet) hit London town last week to host a V.I.P. screening of the new season of The City - a definite guilty pleasure of ours : ) Rubbish friend and equally hot leggy blonde Laura Whitmore, co-host Melvin and a VERY excited group of teenage girls, dressed in their very best were there to welcome her. We are talking cocktail dresses and sky scraper heels! I even got climbed on and over by one particularly enthusiastic fan beaming from the fact that she had just got taken with Whitney...wowser. Before the screening, we were treated to a Q&A with the fashionista...naturally MTV's charming host and eager fashion journalist Melvin wanted to test out her fashion knowledge, 'so Whitney, what material do you think this is made of?....not sure.....that's boyfriend material'. Ha! The hot topic of the evening was Whitney's already successful fashion line Whitney Eve, which I can also report will be hitting English waters VERY soon!

We are looking for an intern to assist the RUBBISH Ink team over the next six months. This will be a person who would like experience in a small creative publishing company to help assist in the production of RUBBISH projects and daily running of the office. This person must have a good telephone manner, be kind, be confident, have initiative, and most importantly be very organised.

The kind of tasks you will be assigned will be diverse and hopefully interesting! This will include assisting in researching projects, assisting with the RUBBISH blog, office management, making tea, managing orders of RUBBISH products, opening post and executing all tasks quickly, efficiently and as independently as possible. This person needs to be experienced with all basic PC/Mac programmes including Word and Excel and preferably have experience with blogs (Wordpress) and websites.

There will be a month trial period first. Please do not apply if you cannot commit yourself to a full six month period. All submissions must be sent in the mail. Email applications will not be considered. Travel expenses will be covered and potential for bonus and future employment. Interviews will be held in the next two weeks. You may remember a while back that Catherine and I rather aptly spotted a fetching bird necklace at the Lulu Guinness Anniversary bash (where Guinness launched her Birdcage bag) in June. Ever since I confess that I have developed a schoolgirl crush on the brand in question. You know the kind that makes you a little giddy every time you catch a glimpse. I want that that that and that. N2 Born out of an almost sickly romantic French love story (love at first sight etc etc bleurgh), Les Nereides and later N2 were set up by Belgium born husband and wife team Pascale and Enzo in the Eighties. The endearing family business now sells worldwide and if the collections are anything to go by this family is fun, beautiful, quirky and creative - Bianca, the youngest daughter at 22, humours us in a Rubbish interview with pure french charm… What is it like working in a family business? Does the business ever get in the way of family life or vice versa? It is an amazing adventure. It is great to be altogether and talk about all the projects we've got for both brands. It is also a lot of pressure; it is 24h work! What inspires the designs? We have a thousand different sources of inspiration! We don't work like most fashion companies, we do what we like first and follow our own intuitions instead of focusing on being on trend. Our jewellery is about crush, poetry and romanticism. We want to create emotions. Who are your influences? We love Paul Smith, Karl Lagerfeld, Peter Lindbergh, Paul McCartney, My grand father (an amazing painter), Federico Fellini, Richard Branson - we get a lot of inspirations from these geniuses. Are there any other Jewellery designers that you particularly admire? We love all the vintage jewellery from Lalique, we love very much the Baquelite period. We also love to shop at the Marche de Clignancourt in Paris, there is fantastic vintage jewellery to be found there. We also like going to Daries Rue du Faubourg Saint Honore in Paris. Quirky sophisticated yellow and golden lady birds at Les Nereides AW09 Who are your style icons? I would say Vanessa Paradis, Marion Cotillard, Ines de la Fressange for Les Nereides and Lou Doillon and Bianca Jagger for N2. What is the ethos of the company? Being passionate, always be the most creative in everyday life, we want to surprise and amaze people. How did N2 come about? We wanted to get even more creative and crazy with a new and younger brand. An ostrich with an umbrella, a giraffe with high heels, everything! We also want this line of product to be more affordable in order to touch a wider and younger public but still very fashionable. Congratulations on your collaboration with Smiley, tell us more... It is an idea we had for a long time as the smileys are very in the trend! Smileys are a real symbol of our generation. This collaboration came out with a very cool watch that we are selling in Colette. I love the element of fun in your designs for both LN and N2. What do you do for fun? We love fun! You should see the whole family together we are real clowns, it is genetic! We travelling as much as we can or we like organizing parties in our family house. London Fashion Week is over. It was a funny 5 days; shows bursting with original ideas, long days, late nights, huge black cab bills, stand politics, catching up with old faces and meeting lots of new interesting people as well as my very first blogging experience (it was nice). LFW is 25 years young, it will continue being a fresh, exciting and more importantly individual fashion capital. We’ve still got “it”!! This is Elizabeth Lau wrapping up and signing off as I prepare to head to Paris...I leave you with my 5 day photo reportage highlights from the week, from tattoos to surf boards, there's even a chin wag with my cousin Susie Lau of Style Bubble fame in there - Enjoy! We kick off with our lovely neighbours... Yang Du and the On/Off Mouseketeers ...In her 2nd season, Yang Du’s bold, bright and happy dresses stood out instantly and made me smile. At 1st glance, the dresses appear to be printed but on closer inspection everything is constructed from intricate panels – I wouldn’t want to be the poor machinist who had to sew all the pattern pieces together. Accessories by Swash, Jennifer Behr & Florian. After rubbing the 180 oil lamp, fashion genies Andrew & Alvaro said they would grant us 3 wishes. We asked them to send more buyers and press and of course a copy of LFW's The Daily :P The lovely Miranda Almond and Sarah Harris from Vogue. Lucy Hutching’s jewellery is inspired by the good witch in the Wizard of Oz. Inspiration aside, I thought her work was striking and original. Grazia girls doing Dynasty at Pandora's Daily Disco. Those shoulder pads are a strong look! Giles & Tobias chilling on the 180 beach. According to them, their Swami boards are the Rolls Royce of surfboards. Sophie showed us her body art; an intricate peacock and plume perched on her back. Beautiful! ...And finally when it was all quiet on the 180 front I toodled down to Somerset House for some mandatory people watching and catwalk crashing. Among the great fashion spectacle of celebs and fashion glitterati I spotted super stylish Susie who kindly answered a few questions for me: EL: LFW in 1 word? SL: Crazy EL: LFW highlight? Julian wears Grenson shoes and Dries Van Noten socks. Wowsa, I felt a distinct change in the fashion air. Testosterone crashed the oestrogen-party. Welcome to menswear Wednesday. Somerset House was transformed into a heaven of tranquility, where queuing followed typical British etiquette rather than the manic scrambles we'd seen on the days before. Shows started bang on time with the front-row-crew representing considerably less bare legs and spiky heels. Instead of the sea of black, Wednesday saw beautifully cut sharp tailoring, artistic shapes and prints. Men paid pristine attention to recent trouser hem length trends as presented in the MAN show, choosing shoes that spoke volumes and socks that wow the crowd. Jealousy inducing stuff!

Beard Battle Season S/S '10

Round 1: Mantern vs. Alistair Guy The Mantern eased into his first round of beard battling for the season with an almost exhibition-like fight against talented photographer for the BFC and Style.com Alistair Guy. Guy obviously feeling nervous before the contest was overheard making excuses bemoaning 'I wish I hadn't gone to the Toni & Guy stand to have my beard trimmed'. School boy error for any beard battler. Round 2: Patrick Grant vs. Mantern The Mantern's second round bout got a little more hairy. This battle was fought away from home at Norton & Sons on Savile Row. Opposition came in the form of the suave and stylish Patrick Grant, whose amazing E. Tautz S/S 10 collection needs to be looked out for in the coming months. Although Grant made a strong start, cheered on by his models sporting some of the chic E. Tautz range, the Mantern managed to rally and pull off an impressive victory. Round 3: Mantern vs. Jeremy Langmead On returning to the BFC Tents the Mantern bumped into editor-in-chief of Esquire magazine, Jeremy Langmead. Despite Jeremy having a superbly quaffed beard with a beautifully kept hairline just underneath his jaw bone the more rugged approach favoured by the Mantern this season left him coming out on top (but only just). Jeremy was wearing: Thom Sweeney blazer and Richard James shirt and tie. Round 4: Marc Hare vs. Mantern On visiting the Fashion East presentation Mantern was confronted by Marc Hare an old RUBBISH contributor and current designer of luxury shoe brand, Mr. Hare. The Mantern was unfortunately caught unawares whilst admiring these chic leather tassled slippers leaving Hare with a first victory for the season. After the battle the Mantern said, 'I just wasn't at the races this afternoon. I've been working all pre-season on my spontaneous beard battle bouts but obviously there's still more to be done I'm very disappointed. Next season that Mr. Hare will need to up his game because I know I will!'. Round 5: Mantern vs. Funsho Alou RUBBISH businessman and personal friend of Mr and Mrs RUBBISH, Funsho Alou, was the Mantern's final bout of the S/S '10 season. Alou, despite trying pre-match mind games by wearing a super sharp suit, was no match for the Mantern whose years of experience on the beard battle circuit meant he got back to winning ways. Funsho wears: Harvie & Hudson suit with finishing touches by master tailor, Mario Lopez. Beard expert's conclusion: Mantern A/W Season '09 stats: Victory by KO 4 Draws 0 Losses 1 A comfortable Beard season for the Mantern despite the slight wobble in the middle rounds. Come February 2010 the Mantern will be back to do further beard battle with anyone who is foolish to accept his challenge!!!

Topshop Trend Queen's Top 3: Day 4

With the Topshop show space closed for SS10, today we hip-hopped around London, drank lots of coffee, stuffed ourselves with yummy pastries and went to see a few of our favourite designers’ shows. Not bad, not bad at all! Peter Pilotto, Erdem, Fashion East and Jonathan Saunders means there were lots of lovely things to feast my eyes upon and dream of owning – basically - it was sartorial heaven.

We crossed over the river while sipping on a latte to watch Erdem Moralioglu's show at the South Bank Centre. As we walked across the river, us Topshop girls had to stop for a minute and take in the view! Nothing quite sums up London like this !!!!

Fashion East’s Lulu Kennedy has been blogging for us straight from the front row and as she pinged over posts telling us what was going on behind-the-scenes at Fashion East, we couldn’t help but get excited to see her show! Although a fan of Michael van der Ham, Holly Fulton stole the show with her super bright, super sexy, Art Deco inspired dresses! Just look at them …. need this yellow number. Shame I'm blonde ... think there might be a clash.

As you might have realised from my post about those silver Chanel booties, I have a bit of a shoe obsession! So although there were loads of things I loved about the Jonathan Saunders show – especially his use of soft colours with neon highlights – his shoes with their contrast soles and elastic detailing keep making me want to scream “want, want, want.”

So there we go - that’s me done. It’s been a great London Fashion Week – especially as I’m now best friends with Naomi, Anna and Donatella! Today's Music Spotlight: James Long

Although having recently gained cult-like status for a crazy William Shatner Youtube mash up with his band Fall On Your Sword Will Bates is better known to fashion folk as the man behind menswear designer James Long¹s storming catwalk soundtracks. Currently based in New York where he spends his morning awakening to a rather hefty sounding sausage, egg and cheese muffin Will¹s latest mix is a medley of 80s and 90s dance noir. ³James gave me four songs as a starting point,² he explains,³ and provided me with a description of the clothes and adjectives like Œmechanical¹, Œmilitary¹, Œhard¹ and Œburnt¹. These are there more just for inspiration so I redo the songs, sample bits of them and mash them up. This also tends to satisfy my narcissistic streak and allows me to put my own stamp on everything. The most extreme and dorky thing I've done for this show is copy a synth line from a certain 90s dance hit by Felix, run it through an amp, recorded it from across a 50 ft room and then pitch up a Depeche Mode song and mash em together. Took ages and probably won¹t even get spotted.² See if you can hear it at James¹ show tomorrow!
